Hair It Is — The Mohawk

18 Jun

I’m mostly not a fan of the mohawk, and I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t approve one when school’s in session, but it’s summer, and Joey wanted one, and, OK, he can have one.

I’ve long said (well, 10 years long) that I’m saving my battles for the biggies — like tattoos and maybe body piercing, definitely alcohol and drugs, plus all matter of risky, dangerous, and illegal behavior. Not that my kid will engage is any poor choices, like ever, but just in case I need the energy, I’m saving some up. (And, of course, I’m not knocking anyone with tattoos or piercings — the dad has a tattoo, after all, I’m just not advising ink, you know?)

So, I let the funky hairdo slide, even did the shaving and cutting myself, and you know what? I really, really like it. I think it’s because I can see Joey’s face so much better now — he was pretty overgrown pre-hawk — and I just can’t stop admiring his warm-weather ‘do. He loves it, too, and it seems to have instilled a new brand of confidence in the boy. Just the other night, he declared, “I feel like a new man!”

Now, the question is, does the little brother need a new look — or does shaggy suit him just fine?

Ha! I was just thinking to myself, “wonder when Danny’s gonna get one too”? He’d be totally babe-alicious with a mohawk too.

      Fitz,

Right now, Danny is begging to keep letting his hair grow. He is tired of people saying, “You look just like your brother, just smaller,” and so he says he doesn’t want to look like Joey anymore. I get that!

Joey’s mohawk is nice! Very manly indeed!
